2 Timothy 1:7 says, "For God has not given us a spirit of cowardice, but of power and love and self-discipline." This verse became prominent for Garret during his suspension. Christians have no reason to fear; no reason to be a coward. Most of us all fall victim to our own sin nature by way of cowardice because we do not rely on the Holy Spirit for the POWER that He has filled us with.

The night prior to his Congressional testimony, Garret fell asleep pondering and praying this verse. He woke up renewed; with a spirit of POWER, love and self-discipline. He prays that showed during his testimony. This biblical principle is so important in our current era where many in the church are told to keep quiet, stay out of the public square and worship in silence. There couldn't be anything more anti-Christ than such notions.
